Thursday, October 25th

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a parade/party. (a freelance job for Pat Garin) With Mardi Gras coming early next year (Feb. 5th) this was good timing. The organizers for the parade/party went all out with 12 horse and buggies, Southern Marching Band, the Treme Brass Band, full police escort, Muriels Restaurant-upstairs. The food was awesome and plentiful and the band, Buckwheat Zydeco was hot. See for yourself.......
Crossing Canal St. throwing beads to the curious onlookers...
In front of Jackson Square while waiting to offload and finish the parade on foot to Muriels with the Treme Brass Band leading the way....

The food again was plentiful, including this cochon de lait.
The four tarot card readers were a hit, staying busy all night.

Buckwheat getting the crowd movin their feet!
